Haidar, a three-year-old child who in November lost both of his parents in a bombing in Beirut, saw his dream come true on Friday when he was given the opportunity to meet his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. The youngster, who is a Real Madrid fan, was received by Florentino Pérez in the Santiago Bernabéu boardroom, where he was given a Madrid shirt by the club president.
Following the brutal attack in the Lebanese capital last month, the story of Haidar, photographed in a Real Madrid shirt after surviving the massacre, came to global attention. And, since then, the club had been ceaseless in its efforts to get in contact with him and arrange for his dream of meeting Cristiano and visiting the Bernabéu to be brought to life.
Visit to Real Madrid City
This Saturday Haidar had another dream come true. The excited youngster had the chance to watch the Real Madrid training session and see his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo in action. He also visited the first team’s residence and was delighted with the games room, which he enjoyed as only a 3 year old child can.
The Bernabéu Tour
After leaving Real Madrid City he went to the Santiago Bernabéu, where he went on the Bernabéu Tour along with family members. Haidar enjoyed it from start to finish, especially the visit to the changing rooms and when he went on to the pitch, an exciting moment for him and his accompanying family.
An unforgettable moment after the thrashing of Rayo
Haidar also attended Real Madrid’s win against Rayo and had his dream come true of watching his side play at the Bernabéu. Following the final whistle, the young Madrid fan went down to the changing rooms where he was welcomed by the squad, who gave him a shirt. This magic moment finished with a trip out to the pitch, where only minutes beforehand his idols had obtained a brilliant win.
