Florentino: Spain’s image is Real’s image

Florentino Pérez hosted the traditional Christmas dinner with the media at the Santiago Bernabéu and made the most of the opportunity to remind everyone who influences the perceptions of the club of their responsibilities.“Real Madrid is a symbol of our country and one of the most beloved ones. For many people, the image of Spain is that of Real Madrid. That represents an enormous responsibility for everyone and we need to protect it, set an example and be transparent, and maintain the legendary status of Real Madrid.”

Message to the media: “You also have the responsibility to report on everything that happens involving our club in a manner befitting of journalists. I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year in the company of your families and loved ones and hope that 2016 brings you good health, which is the most important thing.”

Grateful for their dedication to the club: “I’d also like to thank you for your dedication to our club and for your efforts to constantly report the news surrounding Real Madrid. It’s fundamental in demonstrating to football lovers what the club means to millions of Real Madrid fans.”

Respect for the fans: “We are a club with a 113-year history and the greatest list of achievements in the history of football. Real Madrid are considered the most prestigious and valuable club in the world. We’re aware that we have to be respectful towards our fans, towards our members and towards the media, who have always supported us in this responsibility.”
