De Gea expected to sign before Tuesday

Both Marca and AS are confident that today is “D Day” in the whole David De Gea saga.

Whilst the Premier League is still open for business until 6pm on Tuesday, September 1, La Liga shuts the window at 11.59pm tonight.

Accordingly, Marca tell their readers on their splash that Los Blancos have until midnight to close the deal with Man United, adding that the Red Devils still want €40m for De Gea, while Real expect that the deal will get done.

As for AS, they also report that Real Madrid remain committed to signing De Gea, adding the caveat that the fans at the Santiago Bernabeu are also behind current number one, Keylor Navas.

Elsewhere, Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague has also revealed his understanding of the whole De Gea situation, in which he describes today as “squeaky bum time”.
